The purpose of a Christian school is to not only teach our children how to make a living, but to teach them how to live with a purpose. We seek to not only teach them about God but how God's character, promises and Biblical principles are discovered through literature, mathematics, science, and history. For example, in science class, we not only want children to discover the fact that the speed of light travels at 186,000 miles per second; but we want children to say to themselves - wow! what an awesome God I have. In this case, we are helping students grow in their personal relationship with God as we weave the academic facts with their faith. Education begins with the reality of God’s existence and the fact that He has communicated to us through creation, His Word, and His Son. As we learn more of God’s creation, our understanding of God’s wisdom and power deepens. As we study God’s Word, we become more equipped for God’s work (2 Timothy 3:16-17). As we grow in our knowledge of God’s Son (2 Peter 3:18), our love for Him increases and our service for Him intensifies. With your investment in Christian education, your child will go into the world equipped to think critically, trained in wisdom, able to defend their faith, and with strong work ethic.
We want to instill a balanced and dynamic education so that students can discover their gifts. One of the most neglected aspects of education over the last several years has been creativity and the arts. At WVCS, we recognize that school and books aren’t everything. In fact, time and again it has been shown that music and the arts aid learning and improve students’ capacity to process new information. They provide an outlet for children’s and teens’ imagination, allows them to foster creative ideas, and trains them to be skilled in articulating those ideas. It provides the basis for understanding media, advertising, or the latest hit single. Art is a part of the human experience and one of the glories of civilization; and God is pleased when our students are able to reveal beauty through it. One of our goals as a school is to not only produce students who will excel in college, but ones who will excel in life and be strong leaders in their churches and communities. In order to facilitate that, we try to give WVCS students as much opportunity as possible to build and practice their leadership skills. We feel it is imperative that students learn how to lead properly – that being in charge of something does not mean ruling with an iron fist, or a fist of any sort. Since those who excel in matters of knowledge tend to be elevated into leadership, they must be equipped to be gracious and have a serving attitude.

As a WASC accredited school, families may have confidence in WVCS's purpose, mission, and educational goals. Accreditation also assures parents that our purposes are being accomplished through a visionary educational program. WASC accreditation certifies that West Valley Christian School is a trustworthy institution of learning and validates the integrity of our school's program as it supports student learning. Stanford, UCLA, UC Berkeley, USC, and Pepperdine University are a few names that come to mind when you think about prestigious, highly academic and accomplished universities. Of all the colleges and universities in the Western Region, only 161 have met high standards of quality and effectiveness to become accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, (WASC). It is one of six regional accrediting associations in the United States that accredits prestigious colleges and universities named above, as well as junior colleges, and K-12 schools. WVCS is honored to have received accreditation by WASC. After completing a rigorous three year self-assessment, committee review and evaluation, WVCS received full accreditation term. A wholesome school culture that results in high morale among staff that leads to positive relationships with students and parents. The staff is dedicated, enthusiastic, and committed to the school's vision of academic excellence. The school leadership team is dedicated to the school’s purpose and monitors the work of the staff to ensure that the programs remain effective and successful. The responsiveness of the head office and site administration to teacher needs is impressive. We commend the exceptionally clean and safe school. A pervasive atmosphere of mutual respect and commitment to student learning is established. WVCS provides a rich, well-rounded, challenging, and sequential curriculum that is constantly enhanced. The issue is not so much what is taught, but how it is taught and our excellent staff are recruited for their passion, their enthusiasm and their imagination in communicating with children to ensure that every single child in their classes is engaged, excited and challenged by the learning experience at all times. We know that learning is too important to be spoiled by mediocre delivery and our staff is restless in their focus on the needs of individuals.
We continue to reflect and develop all that we do, staying connected with an outside world which is changing faster than at any time in the past both nationally and internationally. We are immensely proud of our achievements and of the community we are building. We want to send our students into the world well-equipped to think clearly, present and defend their views and faith, work hard, and stand strong. We hope to have the opportunity to share that with you and your children.
With appreciation and great anticipation,
