3rd Grade Santa Barbara Zoo
March 14th, 2024
The third-grade class eagerly anticipated their overnight field trip to the Santa Barbara Zoo, embarking on a unique safari sleepover filled with excitement. Before entering the zoo, they shared a heartwarming dinner at Kyle's Kitchen, where they met Kyle, an inspiration with an undiagnosed brain injury. The adventure continued with encounters with a python snake, behind-the-scenes tours of the animal kitchen and medical center, s'mores under the stars, and a nighttime zoo tour. The next day, they enjoyed a nature talk, a train ride with panoramic views, and a memorable experience feeding giraffes. For many, this marked their first significant sleepover, and as they bid farewell, their hearts overflowed with gratitude for the unforgettable memories and appreciation for the chaperones. The class now carries the lessons and strengthened bonds from their wild journey through the Santa Barbara Zoo into their next adventure at Riley's Farm in 4th Grade.
