Enrichment classes are learning experiences that go above and beyond what is possible in the traditional school classroom. Here at WVCS, we offer several Enrichment Courses for all classes TK-8th Grade. While studying Math, Literature, Science and History is important, we also recognize that Enrichment Courses can help children find and channel their gifts. Through these Enrichment Courses, our goal is to help students find their niches and to be able to learn and express themselves in different ways. Below are the Enrichment Courses that are offered to our students:
STEM/LIBRARY
Welcome to STEM Class! STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. We will be designing, experimenting, building, and creating in class together. Students will also be able to use and control some of WVCS’s robotic equipment! Class periods are filled with partner work and small group challenges that will be completed in class. For this reason, collaboration and teamwork are essential and will be practiced.
dANCE
Welcome to Dance Class! Dance is used to increase self-esteem through positive and noncompetitive experiences. It strengthens students' ability to listen and follow directions, develop neural pathways through movement patterning that are essential to language acquisition, reading readiness, and mathematical ability. Through dance, the students will develop strong and healthy bodies and brains through movement and exercise!
pHYSICAL eDUCATION
Welcome to PE! WVCS strives to provide each student with the knowledge and the skill set to lead both physically active and fit lives. At WVCS we believe that Physical Education is not only important to develop physical skills, group and individual activities within our program but to also develop social skills, cooperative skills, respect for others and to have fun.
Students are expected to participate, follow directions, have respect for themselves and others, use equipment appropriately, and to try new things. Students are not expected to be great at every sport or game they play, but they are expected to give their best effort and to try new things

This class will focus on two things; exploring the art elements (the basic building blocks used to create all art), and experimenting with visual expression. Educate students on why it is important to study art, as well as its purpose or importance within our society and cultures around the world. This class will also teach students patience, creative problem solving skills, appreciate the beauty of God’s creation, widen vocabulary, organize information, think outside the box, and positively express themselves with the characteristics that reflect who God says we are.

Welcome to Music Class! In Music, we will grow our singing voices as we prepare for our seasonal programs, songs to perform in chapel, and musical theater performances. In each class we will develop proper breathing and technique for beautiful sound and tone. We will work on basic musical rhythms, as well as have fun with free expression through movement to music, singing games, and "play alongs" using basic percussive instruments.
