Trisha Herget
Camp Director – Operations, Families & The “Everything Runs Smoothly” Expert
If summer camp were a ship, Trisha would be the calm and confident captain making sure every sail is set and every crew member knows exactly where to go. With seven years at West Valley Christian School, Trisha knows the campus, the staff, and many of the students better than almost anyone. During the school year, Trish oversees the financial office, coordinates facilities and technology needs, and helps ensure the entire campus runs efficiently. During the summer, she brings that same organization and leadership to camp operations. As Camp Director, Trisha helps oversee daily operations, supports staff hiring, and ensures the camp vision and culture stay strong. She is also one of the main go-to people for parents, helping families understand registration, schedules, and the famous Early Bird Camp Registration (which she highly recommends if you like saving money). Parents can feel confident knowing Trisha knows the staff, knows the campers, and is always ready to help solve problems faster than a camper can say, “Is it time for snack yet?”

Sophia Saldivar
Camp Director – Programs, Adventures & Master Organizer of Fun
Sophia is one of the creative engines behind summer camp. She has been part of the West Valley Christian School community for five years and began helping with both school and camp programs while still in high school. Since then, she has continued serving students while completing college and working closely with our Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes. That means Sophia has developed a superpower: she knows how to connect with younger campers while still keeping older students excited and engaged. As Camp Director alongside Trish, Sophia helps design the weekly schedule, organize field trips, coordinate buses, purchase tickets, and manage the countless details that make camp run smoothly. She also works closely with Trish on budgeting to ensure campers enjoy special trips, exciting activities, and new surprises every week. Sophia is also leading efforts to recruit new staff and build a dynamic leadership structure for camp. If something exciting is happening this summer—there’s a good chance Sophia helped plan it.

Pastor Romeo Manalang
Program & Activities Team -- STEM, Creativity & Innovation Leader
Pastor Romeo might secretly be one of the most interesting people at camp. During the school year, he teaches digital animation, robotics, and STEM, helping students explore technology and creativity. He is also a pastor with 15 years of ministry experience and a taekwondo instructor with 16 years of teaching martial arts. This summer, Romeo will lead many of the creative and hands-on workshops that make camp special. From robotics projects to multimedia production, digital animation, and hands-on building challenges, Romeo knows how to turn curiosity into incredible learning experiences. Campers who love technology, inventing, designing, or building things will definitely want to spend time in Romeo’s workshops. And if you ever wondered where all the cool tech equipment is on campus—Romeo probably knows.

Nathan Callispa
Games, Challenges & Camp Energy Specialist
Every great camp needs someone who can turn a simple game into an unforgettable adventure. Nathan is that person. Nathan brings huge energy, creativity, and a love for fun group games. Whether it’s a giant team competition, an obstacle challenge, or a brand-new game invented on the spot, Nathan knows how to keep campers laughing and moving. Working alongside Romeo, Nathan will help plan daily game rotations, lead color team competitions, and organize the activities that keep campers excited from morning until pickup time. If you hear cheering, laughter, and maybe a little friendly competition happening across the field… there’s a very good chance Nathan is nearby.

Ryan Jorgenson
Program Communication Leader – Athletics, Games & Big Energy
Ryan brings a combination of leadership, humor, and athletic energy that makes camp days fly by. As the Athletic Director at West Valley Christian School, he already works with students across elementary and middle school, organizing sports and helping students grow in confidence and teamwork. At camp, Ryan helps lead communication with parents and staff, making sure everyone understands the camp schedule, activities, and daily program flow. If parents have questions about games, special activities, or what campers will be doing throughout the day, Ryan is one of the friendly faces ready to help. Ryan is also helping introduce new PE equipment and activities this year—including indoor pickleball, badminton, giant inflatable volleyball, Gaga pit competitions, and maybe even a few surprise tournaments. If something competitive and fun is happening at camp… Ryan probably helped plan it.

Tania Sanchez
Program Communication Leader – Camp Culture & Camper Care
Tania brings warmth, experience, and a genuine love for students that makes campers feel instantly welcomed. She works during the school year as a teacher’s aide in preschool and kindergarten and has also helped lead PE classes for elementary and middle school students. At camp, Tania works closely with Ryan to help communicate the program to parents and staff, making sure everyone knows what activities are coming next and how each part of the day works. She also plays a key role in helping welcome families on the first day, connecting campers with their counselors, and making sure each child feels comfortable and included. As a parent herself, Tania understands kids from both a teacher’s perspective and a parent’s perspective. Her caring personality and listening heart make her someone campers and parents feel comfortable approaching anytime.
Camp Team Structure
To keep camp organized and exciting, campers will also be divided into Color Teams, each led by a dedicated team leader who builds team spirit and guides campers throughout the day.
Color Team Leaders
• Yellow Team: Yana
• Green Team: Jordan
• Red Team: Alex
• Blue Team: JD
Each color team will include counselors who help supervise campers, guide activities, and ensure every camper stays safe, encouraged, and included.
Expect friendly competitions, team cheers, and plenty of color-team pride throughout the summer.

Here are two easy conversation starters to help campers connect with our staff:
1. “What was your favorite summer camp memory when you were a kid?”
2. “If you could design the ultimate camp day, what activities would be included?”
