Dear WVCS Families,

The recent performance of "The Little Mermaid" was a true testament to the talent and dedication of our students, staff, and parent volunteers. As I reflect on the evening, I am overwhelmed with pride for the remarkable achievements of our school community in bringing this magical production to life. The cast of "The Little Mermaid" delivered outstanding performances that left the audience in awe. Each actor fully embraced their character, captivating the audience with their singing, acting, and stage presence. Witnessing our students' growth and confidence on stage was incredibly rewarding and spoke volumes about their commitment and talent.

Quotes from attendees of the play:

  • "I just love discovering new talent, did you hear her add the harmony run?
  • "Did you hear her voice? My baby girl has a lady voice!"
  • "My girl just 'killed it!' I am just so proud of her."
  • "The sound effects were amazing."
  • "My daughter didn’t want to take her costume off!"
  • "The dancing mermaids were my favorite."
  • "I had no idea that an elementary play would be so good. We just came back to each show; my kids just loved it."
  • "My 5th-grade son just wanted to help clean up the set and support his classmates."
  • "This is our community, and we just cannot wait to get to school every day."
  • "The WVCS YouTube Channel is amazing! We can zoom in and see our girl! Thank you so much. We love WVCS!"

Behind the scenes, our crew and parent volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure the success of the production. From set props design to costume creation, their dedication and attention to detail were evident in every aspect of the show. A special thanks to our tech team for their expertise in lights, sound, and video recording, which added an extra layer of professionalism to the performance.

Our amazing staff, including Mrs. Lampechkun, Mrs. Chavez, Miss Molly, and Miss Hayden, played a pivotal role in bringing the production together. Their guidance and support were invaluable, and it's clear that their passion for the arts has had a profound impact on our school community.

Beyond the stage, the positive impact of our enrichment classes on our students' overall development is undeniable. From music, theatre, art, PE, and dance classes to classroom writing and oral presentations, our students are gaining valuable skills and growing in confidence academically, socially, morally, and spiritually.

Looking ahead, the future is incredibly bright at WVCS. As we continue to invest in our faculty, facilities, and curriculum, we are excited to provide even more opportunities for our students to shine. From state-of-the-art science labs to cutting-edge performance spaces, including performance dance, studio newscast, Makerspace fashion, design, and STEM, we are committed to fostering an environment where every child can thrive and succeed.

Kindly,

Mr. Swales
