About Us

The 2nd Grade class has been learning about culture and the past. They interviewed family members and found out what cultural background their family came from. Students compared how their parents and grandparent's life growing up was different from their life today. They made a family tree and learned about traditions in their family. In our study of different cultures we learned to appreciate how each culture has made our country great with their art, food, stories, clothing, music, etc. To show how different cultures dress students created a paper doll wearing the traditional clothing of their country. Students also researched the flag of their country and made a passport and they also created a Coat of Arms that symbolized their family. We ended our study with an amazing heritage luncheon where parents and grandparents joined us as we feasted on amazing food from the country of their ancestors. It was an incredible time as we learned to appreciate other cultures.
